Litwiller Welch, 72, of Hopedale, formerly of Peoria and Chicago, passed away at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Hopedale Hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Boynton Township, rural Delavan, to Christian C. and Emma Zehr Litwiller. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister, four brothers-in-law, one niece and two nephews. She was a graduate of Hopedale High School, Goshen College in Goshen, Ind., and Jane Addams Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Illinois. Carolyn was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and Little Company of Mary Hospice. In 2002, she moved to Hopedale to live at Hopedale Commons. She was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church and attended Lombard Mennonite Church while living in Chicago.
