He was born on 12 August 1828 in Königreich Hannover, died on 14 August 1905 in Lamourie, Rapides Parish, Louisiana, USA. Description: This name should be Carl August Leopold AFEMANN (later Charles Augustus AFEMAN).
The date of birth should be 05 April 1828. Place of birth: Lauenau, Königreich Hannover. The death information is correct.
The mistake was caused by putting together the very similar names of two brothers. The youngest brother of this Carl was named Carl Franz August AFEMANN, born on 12 August 1938, also in Lauenau.

Alexandria, La., Aug. 15. ? Charles A. Afeman, aged 78 years, died last night at his home near Lamourie, after an illness of several months. He leaves two sons and six daughters. His remains will be buried in Pineville tomorrow. The deceased has lived in this parish the greater part of his life and was a Confederate Veteran, being a member of Company I, Coushatta Crescent Regiment.
