Birth: 1901 Boyd Chippewa County Wisconsin, USA Death: 1971 Chamberlain Brule County South Dakota, USA Services for Barney Rank, 70, Chamberlain, will be at 2 pm Tuesday at the Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. R.E. Goeken officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of the McColley Funeral home. Mr. Rank was born Aug. 20, 1901 in Boyd, Wis., and died Oct. 29 while hunting eight miles north of Chamberlain. He lived in Chamberlain for 23 years, where he was a mechanic for Sladek and Raisch brothers. Prior to moving to Chamberlain, he lived in Kimball. Mr. Rank married Minnie Olson at Stanley, Wis., in 1925. She died in 1933 and on July 14, 1951 he married Martha Frank at Chamberlain. Survivors include his widow; a son, Harold, Aberdeen; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Creel of San Anselmo, Calif., and Linda Rank, attending Northern State University in Aberdeen; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert Coleman of Green Bay, Wis., Mrs. Harvey Soulek of Rollins, Wyo., Mrs. Vern Collins of Carter and Miss Lorraine Frank of Minneapolis; a brother, William of Springfield, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Maxemer of Millen, Wis.; and 10 grandchildren.
