She attended Badger School #4 graduating from the 8th grade. She worked in the LaMoure area and in Laporte, MN before her marriage to Alfred Lutgen February 6, 1940. They farmed East of LaMoure on the Lutgen family farm and had 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.Arline was active in the Holy Rosary Altar Society, Homemakers, the LaMoure Country Club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 63 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, reading, playing cards, trying new recipes and drawing pictures for her grandchildren. She loved having company and always said, “Thank you for coming”.Arline is survived by her siblings; Walter (Virgina) Bender, Rachel Young, Hilda Braun and Ruthie (Jim) Matzek; her children, David (Cathie) Lutgen, Donna (John) Swenson, Rosalie (Allyn) Svor, Allan (Susan) Lutgen; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred, son Lynn, brothers Edward, Alvin, Aaron, Ralph, Harold and sisters Lenora and Tillie.There will be a visitation from 6:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaMoure. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 also at the church.
