LISBON - Archie William Chrislip, 85, of 14970 Steubenville Pike Road died in the emergency room at Salem Community Hospital early Monday morning.
Mr. Chrislip was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Charleston, W.Va., to the late William J. and Nora (Hardman) Chrislip.
A World War II Army veteran, he was Protestant by faith and retired after 22 years working as a kiln tender for the H.K. Porter Brick Yard in Wellsville. He was also an avid outdoorsman and part-time farmer.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Ruby (Beaver) Chrislip, whom he married July 22, 1950; his daughter, Carol Hilderbrand of Lisbon; his grandchildren, Cindy (Shane) Smith and Bob (Karen) Hilderbrand, both of Lisbon, and two great-grandchildren, Michael Smith of Salem and Chrissy Smith of Lisbon.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Chrislip.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Ludwig officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Burial Group.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
