Mrs. Burkhart was born March 14, 1914 to Clement and Rosalie (Myers) Ross in Banks, Ala. Amyrillis was a receptionist at the National Gallery of Art. Member of Cathedral of the Risen Christ Legion of Mary Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ambrose Burkhart; two sons, Timothy and Stephen; a brother, Aubrey Ross. Survivors include four children, John and Cecilia Burkhart of Lincoln, Michael and Sherry Burkhart of St. George, Utah, Roseanne and Frederick Chapp of Laramie, Wyo., Tony and Bridgett Burkhart of Gering, Neb.; sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. on Tuesday (12/15/09) at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ. Msgr. Robert Tucker will celebrate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. on Monday (12/14/09) at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A. Street, Lincoln 68510.
