Alvina Henke, 76, Janesville, Wisconsin formerly of Aberdeen, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Rock Haven Health Care Center in Janesville.
Alvina Olivia Schaffer was born on June 5, 1928, at Leola, South Dakota in McPherson County to August and Martha (Zelmer) Schaffer. She grew up on the farm between Leola and Eureka where she attended the country school. Following her schooling, she helped on the family farm. She married John Henke in 1947 at Leola. They made their home on a farm near Ellendale. In 1965, she moved to Aberdeen. In 1966 she moved to Beloit, Wisconsin. In 1999, she became a resident of the Rock Haven Health Care Center
She is survived by two sons, Ted Henke of Watertown and Delbert Henke of Beloit, Wisconsin; one daughter, Elsie (Ken) Anderson of Savage, Minnesota; two brothers, Milbert (Verna) Schaffer of Aberdeen and Leonard (Sharon) Schaffer of Aberdeen, and one sister Frances Docter of Streeter, North Dakota; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
