Bender, 56, of Arkansas and formerly of Lodi,CA, died Sept. 6 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Hartman, Arkansas. He was born on August 17, 1947, in Lodi,CA. Allan was a employee of Quick Transports as a mechanic/welder. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. A native of Lodi, CA, Allan moved to Arkansas in 1994. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his sons, Stephen Bender and Michael Bender, both of Lodi, CA; two granddaughters; brother, Ray Gustafson, of Clarksville, AR; sisters Marolyn Watts, of Woodbridge, Carolyn Werner, of Warden, WA, and Betty Jackson, of Monterey; and mother, Thelma Gustafson, of Clarksville, AR. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Bender-August 6, 1995. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Harwicke Funeral Home in AR. Hardwicke's Funeral Parlor in AR is in charge of arrangements.
