Tolstoy - Adah Heinrich, 76, Tolstoy, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at the Bowdle Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2006, at the Bowdle Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Neil Biloff officiating. Burial will follow at the Bowdle Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery. Visitation will be at Miller Funeral Home, Bowdle, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday with family present from 7-8:30 p.m. Adah Annette Brenneise, daughter of Katharina (Katie Losing) and Heinrich (Henry) A. Brenneise, was born Aug. 19, 1929, south of Greenway in McPherson Co. This is where she was raised and attended Spring Creek School. She graduated from Plainview Academy, Redfield, in 1947. She taught country school north of Eureka for one year. On July 22, 1948, she married Clemens Heinrich at Bowdle. Adah taught rural schools south of Bowdle for two years. She cooked at the Bowdle Nursing Home and local cafes until her retirement in 1995. Adah lived south of Bowdle her entire married life until moving to the Bowdle Nursing Home in 2003. Adah was a member of the Bowdle Seventh-day Adventist Church, was a master guide for the Pathfinder Club, and served as the SE Federation president of the Adventist Community Services. She also belonged to the Bowdle American Legion Auxiliary, the Bowdle Hospital Auxiliary, and was a 4-H leader. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, and traveling (traveling with Clemens to Africa, Europe, and Costa Rica.) Adah particularly cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Clemens of the Bowdle Nursing Home; four sons: Keith (Yvonne) Heinrich of Manila, Philippines, Virgil (Linda) Heinrich of Hutchinson, Minn., Jim (Connie) Heinrich of Tolstoy, and Gordon Heinrich of Roscoe; two daughters: Elaine Lang of Fargo, N.D., and Trudi (Steve) Hatch of Sioux Falls; Three brothers: Sam Brenneise of Lombard, Ill., Ken Brenneise of Rapid City, and Nathan (Muriel) Brenneise of Payette, Idaho; two sisters: Ruth (Jim) Duerkson of Tuscon, Ariz. and Orpha Zumbaum (Chuck) Bensen of Eureka; 15 grandchildren: Cherrie Heinrich and Brenda Heinrich of Loma Linda, Calif., Debbie Heinrich, Amber Keller, and Joshua Heinrich of Lincoln, Neb., Jan Heinrich and Bill Heinrich of Orlando, Fla., Mindi Heinrich and Caleb Heinrich of Roscoe, Sarah Heinrich of the Marshall Islands, Tina Heinrich, Taya Heinrich, Ty Heinrich, and Terah Heinrich of Hutchinson, Minn., and Whitney Lang of Fargo, N.D.; four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. Family members preceding Adah in death were her father on Feb. 10, 1934, her mother on March 16, 1974, one infant daughter, two brothers (Jonathan and Emil), and one sister (Sarah Liebelt). Miller Funeral Home, Bowdle, is in charge of arrangements.
