JoAnn Froehlich 67, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, entered into rest peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.
She was the widow of Edwin J. Froehlich (41 years) who she married on May 4, 1968. The daughter of the late William J. and R. Arlene (Higbie) Malley, she was born August 25, 1943 in Middletown.
JoAnn was a member of the Montgomery Friends of the Fireman, Berea Elementary PTG, Valley Central Scholarship Council, Town of Montgomery Democratic Committee and many other local organizations and groups throughout her life.
JoAnn was a hard worker and was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was full of love and laughter which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
JoAnn is survived by her four daughters: Lynda & Keith of New Jersey; Susan & Jim of Montgomery, NY; Debbie of Montgomery, NY; Diane & Andre of Montgomery, Special niece Tammy, grandchildren; Aron, Samantha, Kayla and Natalie; along with special grandniece Ciara. She is also survived by a sister, Kathleen Malley of Montgomery, Brother William Malley and his wife Dorothy of Montgomery, Sister in law Truus Malley of Montgomery, Sister in law Virginia Lahee of Hicksville, NY, Brother in law Francis and Ester Froehlich and Eugene Froehlich of Montgomery, she is further survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was predeceased by her Brother Jack Malley and several brother in laws and sister in laws.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 on Friday December 17, 2010 at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St, Montgomery, NY.
A funeral mass will be Saturday, December 18, 2010, 10:00 A.M. at Holy Name of Mary Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery, NY.
Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery, NY.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to either the Montgomery Fire Dept, PO Box 8, Montgomery, NY 12549 or Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550
