WOODSFIELD ? Barbara R. Conner, 72, of Woodsfield, Ohio, died Friday (May 23, 2008) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Barnesville, Ohio, May 1, 1936, a daughter of the late Elmer Rausch and Clara Froehlich Rausch.
Barbara was a member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church of Woodsfield, a graduate of Woodsfield High School, and The Ohio State University. She was a member of Ohio State Alumni Association, Buckeye Club, Monroe County Alumni Club (past president), Monroe County Republican Executive Committee.
She taught over 30 years in the Switzerland of Ohio School district having taught at Skyvue High School, River High School, Woodsfield High School and Woodsfield Elementary.
She is survived by her husband whom she married June 7, 1958, Paul E. Conner of Woodsfield; one daughter, Cynthia Conner of Gahanna, Ohio; one sister, Rita (Jack) Spiers of Pickerington, Ohio; and two nephews, Mike (Bobbi) Spiers of Delaware, Ohio, and Scott (Heidi) Spiers of Powell, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Sylvester Catholic Church Woodsfield, Ohio. Interment in the Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield, Ohio. Vigil Services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
