Message: From the Huntington Herald Press Online, February 26, 2001 Helen E. Smith, 90, formerly of Huntington, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 2001) at Sterling House, Muncie. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Huntington Catholic High School and from beauty college, and had been a beautician in Bluffton. She had also worked for Hunckler Products, Huntington, and was a homemaker. She was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Huntington County Right to Life. She was born July 18, 1910, in Huntington, to Joseph and Mary Holzinger Hergenroether. Her marriage was Feb. 24, 1940 to Willard A. Smith. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Marilyn) Doyle, Muncie; two sons, Donald Smith, Wausau, Wis., and Michael Smith, Olympia, Wash., six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Lucile Christine ?Tina? Kohrman, Fort Wayne; and a brother, William Hergenroether, Sugar Grove, Ill. Seven brothers and seven sisters are deceased. Calling is from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hart Funeral Home,where a Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Ron Rieder officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 840 Cherry St., or Huntington County Right to Life, 34 E. Washington St.
