ARNOLD FRIDAY MORNING, NATIVE OF SWITZERLAND DIES OF PNEUMONIA AT HOME ON ROUTE SEVEN Funeral services for Mrs. Rosella Arnold, 84, who died Tuesday morning at her home in Wayne Township, route No. 7, will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning from St. Nicholas Catholic Church and interment will be made in Mt. Olice Cemetery by C. A. Keck. Death followed a weeks' illness due to pneumonia. Her condition had been critical for several days and death was not unexpected. Mrs. Arnold was a native of Switzerland but was brought to America at the age of four years and after two years' residence in Pittsburgh, the family came to Muskingum County, where she spent the rest of her life. The deceased was the widow of Andrew Arnold, who died 17 years ago, and was a consistant member of St. Nicholas Church, also the Purgatorial and Altar societies. Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Lewis Armbrust, Mrs. Bertha Armbrust, Mrs. Anna Hupp, Mrs. Margaret Boetcher, Fred, Albert, Frank and John Arnold, all of this city; and William Arnold of Toronto, Ohio; also 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lang and Mrs. John Arnold, both of this city. In 1920, 73 year old widow Rosalia Arnold owned a farm in Wayne Twp., Muskingum County, Ohio. Living with her were her unmarried daughter, Maggie (34), widowed son John (30), and John's children Marie A. (7), Raymond V. (7), and Rose M. (2 yrs 11 mos.). Only Marie attended school. Everyone in the home was a native of Ohio except Rosalia, who was a German-speaking native of Switzerland, as were her parents. John and Maggie's father was from Germany.
