Mr. Beamer died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at a Winchester nursing home. He was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Hallowell, the son of Raymond H. and Lucy M. (Dunbar) Beamer. Mr. Beamer graduated from high school in Lawrence. He joined the U.S. Army and served in World War II as a machine gunner. He was stationed in Hawaii at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was later stationed in France and Germany. Mr. Beamer was a licensed electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 226, retiring in 1980.
