Schwallie Age 85 of Canton passed away Thursday morning in Stone Crossing Care Center. He was born Dec. 3, 1924 in Monroe County and was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Burkhart Schwallie. He has been a resident of Canton since 1951 and retired from Republic Steel. Anthony served his country in the US Army during World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Crum and Mildred Crum; six brothers, Edmund, Lawrence, George, Raymond, Clarence, and infant brother, Clemence Schwallie. Anthony is survived by four nieces, Shirley and John Vahala of Caldwell, Ohio, Joanne Crum of Pittsburgh, Pa., Joyce and Bob Lennex of Sarasota, Fla., Rita Crum of Pittsburgh, Pa.; nephews, Dale Crum of Caldwell, Ohio, and Richard Crum of West Newton, Pa.; several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Williams Funeral with Fr. Edward Beneleit officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
