  [S927] Obituary. Obituary (from the Barnesville Enterprise): Vernon "Woody" Taylor, 85, 815 North Chestnut St., Barnesville, died Thursday, December 18, 1997, at the Barnesville Hospital. He was born in Barnesville on October 27, 1912, son of the late Arthur D. and Elsie Neibch Taylor.He was a retired welder for the former Watt Car and Wheel Co., Barnesville, and mem-ber of the Assumption Church of Barnesville. He was a 32nd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5250 and a bingo volunter at Assumption Church for 32 years.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Burkhart Taylor; one brother Harold W. Taylor; and a granddaughter, Johanna D. Murphy.Surviving are one son, Robert Taylor of Barnesville; a daughter, Mrs. John (Marilyn) Murphy, Barnesville; and three grandchildren, Matthew Taylor, Barnesville; Amy D. Murphy, Columbus; and Phillip Taylor of Salem.Friends were received Sunday at the Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Mascolino the celebrant. Christian Wake service was held Sunday at 4 PM in the funeral home.
