Greetings everyone, My Grandmother was a SCHANZ born in Speyer, Ukraine, Russia. Her ancestors came from Lingenfeld, Rhine Pfalz., to Speyer, Ukraine, in 1809. Her name was Emilie and she married my Grandfather, Jakob Aspenleiter, who was also born in Speyer, Ukraine. His ancestors immigrated to Speyer, Ukraine, from Birkenhördt, Rhineland Pfalz., also in 1809. I know that there are ASPENLEITERS/ASPELEITERS in Dahn and was wondering if anyone has any connections with these people. I've been able to collect some data on ASPENLEITERS from Dahn but have not been able to connect them with my ASPENLEITERS that came from Birkenhördt. I sure would like to. Does any one know if the Dahn SCHANZ family is connected to the SCHANZ people from Lingenfeld? Thanks for your time, Rich Aspenleiter
