Bessie Letzelter
LETZELTER, Bessie (Johnson) Ward, 92, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Thursday, March 30, 2006 in Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.She was born in Wheeling on March 18, 1914, a daughter of the late Philip B. and Mary (Atkinson) Johnson.She was a retired Teacher in Ohio County Schools; and a graduate of West Liberty State College.She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wheeling, where she served as a Deacon and Elder.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas E. Ward; her second husband, James Letzelter; and a sister, Frances Whiteman.Surviving are a son, Thomas ?Tommy? Ward of Wheeling; four step children, Mary Letzelter of Wheeling, Robert Letzelter of Alabama, Cindy Coyne and her husband, David, of Bridgeport, Ohio and Julie Enoch and her husband, Tom, of Florida; two nieces, Mary Frances Petit of Florida and Sheryl Kolinski of Wheeling; a nephew, Stanley Whiteman and his wife, Paula, of Wheeling; several step nieces and nephews; along with a special friend, Sandy Letzelter of Wheeling.Friends will be received on Monday, April 3, 2006 from 10 a.m. to Noon at the McCoy-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 44 15th Street, Wheeling.Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1307 Chapline Street, Wheeling with the Rev. J. Robert Willits officiating.Private interment will be held in Washington Cemetery, Washington, Pa.Memorial contributions may be made to Russell Nesbitt Services, 529 Fulton Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
