Marvin Wellensiek, 84, Syracuse, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Community Memorial Hospital. He was born August 14, 1925 in Lincoln to Ida Wellensiek. He was married August 17, 1952 to Leela Mandery at St. Paul's U.C.C., Cook. After her passing, he married Jean Hackler on October 7, 1995 in Grove, Okla.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Jean Wellensiek, of Syracuse; daughter, Debra Kay Bowman, of California; step-daughters, Debbie and husband, Keenan, Knopik of Plattsmouth, Phyllis Peterson of Omaha, Jennyfer and husband, Glen, Foss of Cook; twin sister, Margaret Mann of Houston; nephews, Greg and wife, Michelle, Mann of Syracuse, John and wife, Deanna, Mann and family, Jamie and wife, Shannon, Mann and family, all of Houston. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Leela (1995).
Memorial Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) with burial at the church cemetery at a later time. Honorary pallbearers: nephews, Greg Mann, John Mann, Jamie Mann; grandhildren Brandon Rieke, Megan Tillez, Michael Rieke, Kameron Foss, Erik Foss. Family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be sent to St. Paul's U.C.C. (Osage). Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, to sign the Book at the funeral home chapel. No viewing, cremation. Arrangements: Fullelman-Allen_Harvey Funeral Home, 644 Park St., Syracuse, NE, 402-269-2441.

Marvin married Leela Mandery, on August 17, 1952 at St. Paul's U.C.C. in Cook, Nebraska, and to this union they had a daughter, Debra. In May of 1995 Leela passed away. October 7, 1995 Marvin married Jean Hackler in Grove, Oklahoma. He loved farming and working his cattle. Loved to wear his John Deere hat; catching up on the local information while having coffee with all his friends. It is reported that he had several pickups which he had driven over 200,000 miles each. He was a loving man who devoted his life to his faith, his family, and his farm.

Memorial Services for Marvin will be Saturday August 7, 2010 at 3:00 P.M at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage), rural Cook, Nebraska, with a Lunch to follow. Burial in the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, will be at a later time. In lieu of flowers, family suggests Memorials be sent to St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage).
