He was born in 1837 and came to America from Hirschthal, Pfalz, Germany, went to Ripley, Ohio, Brown County. There he married Elizabeth Reichmann in 1859, and they had 8 children. Catharine 'Kate', Louisa 'Lucy', Frederick 'Fritz', William 'Will', Emma (my grandmother), Charles, George & Eddie. They moved from Ripley to Cincinnati by 1880. Elizabeth's parents were Fredrick Reichmann & Maria Magdelena Koob from Ungstein, Pfalz, Germany. They settled in Ripley, Brown County, Ohio.
