Paul Archer?s obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 16 Jun 1959: ZANESVILLE NATIVE DIES IN FLORIDA Paul W. Archer, 43, a native of Zanesville, died unexpectedly Monday evening [15 Jun 1959] of a heart attack in Miami, Fla. Mr. Archer ,the son of the late Adrian and Bridget Heil Archer, was welfare director and city street commissioner here during Mayor William Watson?s administration. He also operated a grocery store for several years on Sharon avenue. Mr. Archer left Zanesville 14 years ago when he moved to Florida where he operated a super market. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic church and was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Fulton Archer, and two sons, Larry and Billy of the home; a sister, Mrs. Florentine Durant of 820 Wayne avenue; a brother Bernard of 1133 Putnam avenue and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Maurice and Leo, preceded him in death within the past 10 months. Services will be held in Miami but arrangements are incomplete.
