Bio: Grisell, Helen L.December 30, 2008Grisell, Helen L., age 91, of Fifth St., Moundsville, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital.She was born January 7, 1917 in Moundsville, the daughter of the late Sam A. and Goldie Slonaker Chambers.She was the former vice-president of Grisell Funeral Service, Inc., a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, Lady Elks, Moundsville Women's Club and the Order of Eastern Star #86.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elwood G. Grisell in 2002, a daughter Dwaine Hess, two brothers Ivan Chambers and C. William Chambers, Sr., and a sister Connie Adkins.Survivors include a son Sidney (Bonnie) Grisell of Glen Dale, a brother Donald J. (Thelma) Chambers of Moundsville, seven grandchildren Dr. David (Cindy) Hess of Bridgeport, West Virginia, Kim (Greg) Heavner of Flintstone, Maryland, Anne (George) Williams of Richmond, Virginia, Eric (Dawn) Grisell of Corbin, Kentucky, Connie (Joe) Grisell Twigg of Glen Dale, Elliott (Lorri) Grisell of Glen Dale, Darren (Missy) Toms of Cleveland, Ohio, fifteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville and on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm at Simpson United Methodist Church, 800 Seventh St., Moundsville with Dr. Randall Flanagan officiating.Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.Memorial contributions may be made to the Grisell Endowment Fund at Simpson United Methodist Church.
