[S927] Obituary. Jacob Molleker Jr., 86, died Saturday June 7, 2014 at the Hays Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1927 to Jacob Molleker Sr and Catherine (Brungardt) in Hyacinth, KS. He married LaVerna Korbe on April 19, 1949 in Munjor, KS. Jake was a long time farmer in the Hyacinth area and then later worked at Travenol. He was a veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Hays VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, LaVerna of the home; children, Donald Molleker and wife Robyn of Marion, Jacques Molleker and wife Joan of Larned, Errol Molleker of Hays, and Gilletta Molleker and husband Kelly Kimerer of Beloit; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a brother Daniel Molleker of Bothell, Washington; and a sister Esther Schmidt of Hays. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Leo, and Donald Lee; four sisters Bertha Molleker, Martha Brungardt, Rose Mary Wagner and an infant sister, Rose Mary as well as a grandchild Wesley Paul Molleker. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Munjor. Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 Pm - 8:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601 A rosary service will be Tuesday at 6:15 PM followed by a parish vigil service at 6:30 PM all at the funeral home.
