  BIOGRAPHY: The Fred Friedley Home Added by trae1950 <http://www.ancestry.com/community/member/profile.aspx?cba=trae1950> on 8 Feb 2009 Donna Napier was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Napier, her grandparents. When she married Fred H. Friedley the Napiers gave them part of their farm land on which to build a home. Fred Friedley built a log house on this property. It had one room on the ground floor and one room attic above. Several years later they built a lean-to on the west side. The house was built in 1885 or 1886. The Fred Friedley family was the only family that ever lived in the house. Mr. and Mrs. Friedley moved out in 1946 to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Otto Kroeschen. The old house was torn down in 1980 by Larry Lutman, a great-grandson of the Fred Friedley's. The only two pictures that can be found of the Fred and Donna Friedley home were taken about 25 years after the house had been vacated. Fred H. Except for a few declining years they spent their entire married life on their farm northwest of Versailles. Fred H. Friedley was born in Zion, Pennsylvania April 16, 1863. He came to Missouri at the age of 3, early in 1866, with his parents, Conrad and Philippine Friedley. Fred and Donna Friedley were the parents of 12 children: William Carrol, Conrad Adam, Gabe Wadestel, Elizabeth Katherine, Ardelia Belle, Oscar Francis, Iva Ruth, Fredrick Charles, Aubrey Neil, Mary Magadalene, Nora Florence, and Norma Ninette. Carrol married Georgia Moore who died early in their married life. Late in life he married Martha Otten. Carrol worked for the railroad for many years. Conrad Adam, better known as Coon Friedley, married Audra Arnold August 1913. Other than eight years spent in Colorado, their entire married life was spent on a farm near Versailles. Conrad A Friedley bought the Fred H. Friedley farm after his father's death, spending his retirement there and passed away on the farm where he was born. Conrad and Audra Freidley had six children: Albert Nelson, Ralph, Ada Clorene, Hazel Lucille, Ina Burton, and Eugene Francis. Gabe Wadestel passed away early in life. Elizabeth Katherine married Oliver P. Huffman March 15, 1918. They were parents of nine sons: Cecil Oliver, Norman Cleo, Fredrick Thomas, Paul Gregory, Aubrey Lester, Donald Marion, Wade Wood, Ervin Earl, and Vencil Nine. Elizabeth Katherine and her husband also raised their family on a farm near Versailles. Ardelia Belle married Claud Pippen. After the death of her husband she moved from Miami, Oklahoma and returned to Morgan County. Oscar Francis married Opal Palmes and they too have spent their life on a farm in Morgan County. They are the parents of 10 children: Raymond, Aubrey, William, Elroy, Paul Fredrick, Norma Jean, Donna, Shirley, and twin boys Donald and Derald. Iva Ruth married three times. Her first husband was Ezra Self, second was Phil Sappington, and the third was Guy Grider. Fredrick Charles married Dorothy Wetherill and they are the parents of five children: Charles David, Fred Harvey, Barbara Belle, Hannah Kay, and Carrol Owen. Aubrey Neil lived just a few years. Mary Magdalene lived one month and one day. Nora Florence married Otto Kroeschen. Otto was a farmer and after retiring they moved to Stover, Missouri where Nora was a beautician and owned her own shop. Norma Ninette lived four years, eleven months, and 24 days. Fred H. Friedley passed away April 5, 1950. His wife Donna preceded him in death on April 21, 1949 at the home of their daughter, Nora Kroeschen. Fred H. and Donna Friedley and six of their children are at rest in Mt. Nebo Cemetary not far from the graves of his parents, Conrad and Philippine Friedley.
