Edward Joseph Bissler Birth: 1887 Death: 1949 From The Alliance Review Alliance, Ohio (Stark County) Wednesday, March 9, 1949 E. J. Bissler Claimed By Heart Attack Edward J. Bissler, 62, head of the E. J. Bissler Plumbing Company, died suddenly at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday at his home, 225 West Market Street, from a heart attack. Mr. Bissler had been ailing for some time. He and his wife returned home at 8:30 p.m. from Cleveland where they had been attending the Home and Garden Show. Mr. Bissler had operated his plumbing business here 38 years. He was a charter member of the Plumber's Union. One of the leading plumbers of this section, he handled a number of the larger plumbing contracts in the city, including St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's School and the Convent. Mr. Bissler operated extensively in real estate property. He was a patron of good clean sports, and was interested especially in baseball and boxing. He was one of the city's leading Cleveland Indians baseball fans and was deeply interested in boys baseball. A native of Alliance, Mrs. Bissler was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a member of Alliance Council 558, Knights of Columbus. Survivors are his wife, Josephine; two sons, Edward J., of Alliance, and Robert L., of the home. Both sons were associated with him in the plumbing business; two brothers, Martin B. of Alliance, and W. L. of Canton; two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Johnson of Alliance, and Mrs. F. J.
