Joseph M. "Joe" Gordon
JOSEPH M. "JOE" GORDON, 35, of Andrews, Ind., formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, 10:22 p.m., at his home following an extended illness. Born Nov. 28, 1972, in Toledo, Ohio, son of Larry D. and Jeannine A. (Hammer) Gordon, Joe attended the Regina Coeli Catholic Church School through the eighth grade, and was a 1991 graduate of the Roy C. Start High School in Toledo, Ohio. He earned two Associate Degrees, one from the University of Toledo and the second from the United States Air Force. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 659 of Toledo, and also a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington. He worked in the Ohio Air National Guard, 180th Fighter Wing, for many years and most recently worked for the Main Post Office - U. S. Postal Service in Fort Wayne, since 2005. He served in the United States Air Force with four years of active duty in Alaska, and 10 years serving in the Air National Guard. He was united in marriage to Christine Zahm on Aug. 10, 2002, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington; she survives. Also surviving are his father and stepmother, Larry D. and Cathy Gordon of Maumee, Ohio; two brothers, Denny (Amy) Gordon of Bedford, Ind., and Duane (Mary) Gordon of Lyons, Ohio; a step-sister, Kelly (Brad) Rynearson of Noblesville; and his father-in-law, Mark Zahm of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannine A. Gordon; a brother, Larry E. Gordon and his mother-in-law, Janine Zahm. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Coeli Parkway, Toledo, Ohio, with Fr. James Auth officiating. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, with Rosary service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Fr. John Guimond officiating. Additional visitation also from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sujkowski Funeral Home, 114 East Alexis Road, Toledo, Ohio. Burial in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio.
