  [S927] Obituary. BIOGRAPHY: Elizabeth C. Young, 94, Huntington, died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 13, 2004) at Norwood Nursing Center. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington, the Altar Rosary Sodality, Huntington Memorial Hospital Guild, Columbia Ladies, Daughters of Isabella, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Young was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Huntington to Martin H. and Philomena M. Meyer Pfister. She married Archie H. Young on Aug. 13, 1931, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Her husband preceded her in death on July 8, 1988. Survivors include two sons, Martin E. Young and James W. Young, both of Huntington; three daughters, Mrs. James (Norma) Holzinger and Mrs. Morris (Carol) Striggle, both of Huntington, and Mrs. Johan (Janet) Brongers, Amherst, Mass.; a sister, Virginia Weinley, Huntington; and 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. : She was preceded in death by four brothers, Julius Pfister, Herman Pfister, Paul Pfister, and Frederick Pfister, and three sisters, Mildred Johnson, Germaine Colvin, and Agnes Heiney. Calling hours are 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Ron Rieder officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Masses at SS.
