Charles F. Newhart

Woodsfield--Charles F. Newhart, 88, of 218 Oaklawn avenue, Woodsfield, died Thursday [September 5, 1963] at 11 p.m. in Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was a building contractor and carpenter most of his life.
Mr. Newhart was born here November 16, 1874, a son of Philip and Mary Schaub Newhart. His wife, Mrs. Lelah Philpot Newhart, preceded him in death May 2, 1951.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and was a lifelong member of Monroe Lodge F&AM, and Woodsfield Chapter 268, Order of Eastern
Star.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charlene Rost of West Carollton and Mrs. Cornelia McCort of the home; a son Philip Newhart of Fullerton, Calif., and nine grandchildren.
Masonic services will be held at the Michener Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. (DST) Saturday followed by Eastern Star services at 8 p.m. (DST). Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. (DST) at the funeral home with Rev. George R. Corbitt officiating. Entombment will be in Oaklawn Abbey.
