He died Saturday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Starlight and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired truck driver of the old IML Freight Company in Louisville. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church of New Albany. Survivors include his wife, the former Pearl Kochert; a son, Robert C. Engle; two daughters, Betty Rose Stewart and Barbara Ann Martin of New Albany; three brothers, Charles and Melvin Engle, both of Starlight, and William Engle of New Albany; three sisters, Helen Andres and Thelma Bierman, of Floyds Knobs and Virginia Kerstan of Starlight; and two grandchildren.
