No. 56801-515, State Registration No. 71895-74 Source: Meyersdale Republican 25 July 1974 MEYEREDALE LADY A SUICIDE VICTIM A Meyersdale woman brought her life to an end Sunday afternoon when she shot herself in the head with a .22 rifle. Mrs. Ruth Petrochi, 58, a resident of an apartment building on North Street across from the Republican office, shot herself on the back porch of the apartment building. Apparently, she died instantly. Mrs. Petrochi had been despondent since the death of her husband, Charles R., on October 27, 1973, in a Pittsburgh hospital. The Petrochi's had come to Meyersdale after Mr. Petrochi retired because of ill health. Mrs. Petrochi was the former Ruth Simmers. They had no children and she is survived by a number of relatives. Funeral services were in charge of the Charles T. Griffin Funeral Home, 4520 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, and burial was in Allegheny County. Griffin Funeral Home, 4520 Penn Ave. where services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m.
