O'Connell, Louis C., 57, passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 1957, at 1:30 o'clock at his home near Miltonsburg, on Woodsfield, Route 3, after an illness of one year.
A son of the late James and Anna O'Connell, he was born at Moundsville, W.VA, on January 5, 1900.
On August 8, 1929, he was married to Miss Marie Brubach, R.N., of Miltonsburg.
Mr. O'Connell was employed in steel mills at Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Baltimore, Maryland, for several years as a mechanic and machinist. In 1941 Mr. O'Connell and family moved to their present home near Miltonsburg.
Surviving are his wife, Marie, and son, Louis S. O'Connell, of the home, and four sisters; Miss Angela O'Connell, of Huntington, W.VA; Mrs. Clarence (Cecelia) Bailey, of Wheeling, W.VA; Mrs. William (Vera) Hollingshead, of Conneaut, Ohio, and Mrs. John (Beatrice) McCulley, of McMechen, W.VA
Two brothers, Francis and Lawrence, preceded him in death.
Mr. O'Connell was a member of St. John's Catholic Church at Miltonsburg, and a member of the Holy Name Society of that church.
A Requiem High Mass will be solemnized on Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock D. S. T. in St. John's Church with Rev. Edward Kakascik officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with the Brubach Funeral Home of Summerfield in charge.
