SCHMITT, MARIA KERNER MAACK - Maria Kerner Maack Schmitt, 86 a 60 year resident and home maker of Scarsdale died on May 11, 2000. Mrs. Schmitt was the loving mother of George, Bernard, Frank, John, Peter and Joseph Schmitt, Gretchen Leserra, Rita Dolan and the late Maria Gugliemo. She was a beloved grandmother to 39 and a cherished great grandmother of 6. Mrs. Schmitt was born in Germany on October 23, 1913, and emigrated to the US in 1929. She was predeceased by her first husband Gustav Maack in 1947, and later married George Schmitt, he died in 1974. Mrs. Schmittës family said that, " She lived for her family and faith". Mrs. Schmitt was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel in Monroe, CT. Visiting will be Friday and Saturday 2-4 & 7-9PM, Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, No visiting Sunday.
