Matz nee SchaubSource: The Monroe County Beacon, dated May 4, 1967Provided by Lena Kahrig Pettit, typed by Betty Lendon MatsonMrs. Mary Ann Matz, 79, of 310 North Main Street, Woodsfield, died Saturday evening, April 29, 1967, at 10:30 o'clock, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, following an extended illness.She was born May 5, 1887, near Lewisville, the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Schaub.Mrs. Matz was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Woodsfield, The Senior Women's Guild of the church, Monroe Rebekah Lodge No. 645 and The VFW Auxiliary.Surviving are two daughters, Miss Thelma Matz, of the home, and Mrs. Francis (Sarah) Borns, of Iron River, Michigan; four sons, Herzel H. Matz, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Louis A. Matz, of the home; Leland M. Matz, of Washington Court House, and Ralph E. Matz, of Chillicothe; two sisters, Mrs. Angie Steen, of Wooster, and Mrs. Ida Stewart, of Cambridge; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.Her husband, William F. Matz, died May 4, 1965.Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in The Bauer and Turner Funeral Chapel, with Rev. George Corbitt officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.
