He died on 01 Jul 1969 in Woodsfield, Monroe Co., OH.) Woodsfield -- John A. Schumacher, 83, of Woodsfield, a retired farmer and house painter, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday (July 1) following a six-month illness. Born near Woodsfield Aug. 9 1885, he was a son of George and Mary Weisend Schumacher. He was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church and its Holy Name and Purgatorial societies. Surviving are two sons, Alfred of Woodsfield and John of Pittsburgh, Pa; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Meyers of Potosi, Mo., Mrs. Esther Foskill of Hartford, Conn, and Mrs. Grace Lynch of Pittsburgh, Pa; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His wife, Mary Glesenkamp Schumacher, died in 1940. Friends may call at Michener Funeral Home in Woodsfield. Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Requiem mass will be solemnized at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Sylvester Church with Monsignor Robert A. Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
