Burkhart, 86, of Lewisville died at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday (Feb 25, 1970) at his home following a long illness. He was born in Monroe County Nov 11, 1883, a son of George and Mary Yontz Burkhart. He worked for many years as a fireman at Ironton and moved to Lewisville after his retirement. Surviving are his widow, Elma Christman Burkhart, and several nieces and nephews. His first wife, Angela Geswein Burkhart, died in 1957. Friends may call at Brubach Funeral Home in Summerfield 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton with Fr. Joseph Finan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Ironton.
