She was born Nov. 3, 1903, in Monroe County to George L. and Magdalena Matz Christman. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lewisville. She is survived by one brother, Paul Christman of Cambridge; one sister, Beryl Claus of Lewisville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Burkhart; her parents; three sisters, Esther Claus, Gertrude Kahrig and Laura Kahrig; and two brothers, Arthur Claus and Clarence Claus. Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lewisville with Father David Gaydosik officiating. Burial is in Middle Church Cemetery near Lewisville.
