Birth: Aug. 3, 1923 Beardsley Hutchinson County South Dakota, USA Death: Mar. 29, 2014 Tripp Hutchinson County South Dakota, USA Sophia "Sophie" Hoff was born on August 3, 1923, to Henry and Lydia (Stoebner) Hoff on the family farm near Beardsley, South Dakota. She was baptized on September 16, 1923 by Rev. W. J. Krieger and confirmed on May 23, 1937 by Rev. Klaus J. Stuebbe. She attended school at Lakeside District #40 near Beardsley through the 8th grade. After the 8th grade, Sophie worked on the family farm alongside her siblings. She loved gardening and canning, especially dill pickles and watermelons. Sophie was a member of Frieden's Reformed Church in Tripp and sang in Frieden's Choir for more than 57 years, from 1937 until 1994. Sophie died on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society of Tripp having attained the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 26 days. Sophie is survived by her sister, Lenora (Patrick) Boehmer of Parkston; a sister-in-law, Rita Hoff of Tripp; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lydia Hoff, five brothers: Theodore, Ronnie, Albert, Otto, and William, and one sister, Emma Hoff. ***************************************** CLERGY Rev.
