He went out August 9, 1864, and was Mustered Out at Nashville, TN on June 14, 1865 . He was in the Battle of Nashville. He married a young lady named Barbara Burkhart in 1866. Their family included: Mary L (1876), Helena P. (1869), Joseph (1871), Eressa (1872), Anna U. (1873), Clara E. (1874), Lucilla (1876), Mary R. (1877), William F. (1879) and Isadore F. (1881). Barbara died in 1882, supposedly fron tyhoid.
