Magdelina (Deiss) Peters, 81January 8, 1924 - August 20, 2005Funeral services for Magdelina ?Maggie? Peters were held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Peters Catholic Church, White Lake.Interment was made in the St. Peters Cemetery, White Lake, with Shearer Funeral Home, Plankinton, in charge of arrangements.Maggie was born January 8, 1924, in Delmont to George and Paulena (Stobner) Deiss. She spent her childhood in Reliance and her young adult life in Chamberlain. She was a babysitter and housekeeper for the Casey?s in Chamberlain. She was a member of the city council in Chamberlain.On November 24, 1958, she married Clarence Peters in Chamberlain. The couple farmed south of White Lake until 1987. She was a member of the Roby Church Altar Society, and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church.She died Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake. She attained the age of 81 years.She is survived by four sons, Nick Peters, White Lake, Ed (Rena) Peters, White Lake, Tom (Karen) Peters, White Lake, and Rich (Alice) Peters, Sioux Falls; one daughter, Paulena (Joe) Hanten, White Lake; two brothers, Herbert (Jan) Deiss, Virginia, and Oscar Deiss, Minnesota; two sisters, Rosie Peterson, Montana, and Martha Rank, South Dakota; nine grandchildren, Blake Peters, Jessica and Tyson Peters, Sidney and Michaela Peters, and Rachel, Jordan, Brandon, and Luke Hanten.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in February 1987; her parents, George and Paulena; one brother, Edwin; and her stepmother, Olga.
