Hieb, 85, of Tripp, died Tuesday (July 4, 1989) at St.Benedict's Hospital, Parkston.Funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Friedens Reformed UnitedChurch of Christ, Tripp, with the Rev. James Schatz officiating. Burialwill be in the church cemetery.Pallbearers include Harlan Hieb, Joel Vetter, Don Schmidt, Larry Dewald,Arlo Dewald, and Robert Schmidt.There will be a family prayer service tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m.at Petrik-Kelley Funeral Home, Tripp. Visitation will be Thursday from9 a.m. - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.Mr. Hieb was born Nov. 23, 1903, 10 miles southwest of Tripp in BonHomme County to John and Katherine (Stoebner) Hieb. He married GertrudeDewald on Jan. 14, 1943, at Tripp. They farmed in the Tripp area untilmoving into town in 1966. He continued to farm with his son until twomonths ago.He served as a school board member of Maxon District No. 4.
