Birth: Jan. 7, 1893 Death: Jan. 14, 1959 **This bio was kindly contributed by Holly Bossley: from the Sullivan County Democrat Microfilm at Callicoon Library in an issue dated January 22 1959 page 1 Katherine Holpp Anderson, 66, passed away last Wednesday, January 14 1959 in Florida, where she had been spending the winter. Born at Windfall, near Tennanah Lake, on January 7 1893, she was the daughter of John and Catherine Holpp. She spent most of her life in the vicinity with the exception of 12 years in NYC, where she managed the Employment Department for the Childs Resaurant Co. In 1925 she started in business at Tennanah Lake and built the Holpp Lodge Hotel, later buying the adjoining property, known as the Gales Hotel. With her husband, the late Martin Anderson, who passed away suddenly in 1944, the operated the popular Holpp Lodge unitl 1947. Due to a cardiac condition she sold to Joseph Rieping of Jersey City and retired, spending much time in Florida. Mrs Anderson was a member of St. Mary's Church, Obernburg, where funeral services were held last Saturday morning. Interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
