Funeral services for Charles A. "Chuck" Gavin, 76, of Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jeffersonville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired lead service clerk for American Airlines and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Jeffersonville Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Delores Gavin; sons, Thomas P. Gavin and his wife, Carmella, of Charlestown, Steve M. Gavin and his wife, Becky, of Jeffersonville and Robert C. Gavin and his wife, Tracey, of Indianapolis; daughters, Debora A. West and her husband, Gary, of Bowling Green, Ky., and Laura J. Pfund and her husband, Bill, of Sellersburg; grandchildren, Thomas P. Gavin Jr., Brandon J. Gavin, Christopher M. Gavin, Landon A. Gavin, Andrew R. Gavin, Donald G. Watt, Vincent E. Watt, Trey Pfund, Stacy L. Young and Allison M. Gavin; and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation at Coots Funeral Home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Koman Foundation or The American Heart Association.
