Jacob had 4 children.Name found also as Nicolaus*Nicholas Murer (sic) died at his home in Raisinville on the 18th inst., where he had resided for the past quarter of a century. He was born in Schifferstadt, Bavaria, 1822. At the age of 26 he immigrated to America, and five years later located in Monroe, Michigan, where he remained till 1855, when he moved to Adrian. In 1869 he moved back to this county and settled on the old homestead in Raisinville. Mr. Maurer was a man of strong convictions, a life-long democrat and raised a family of seven democratic sons. By trade the deceased was a mason, but has not worked at it since 1869. He leaves a widow and seven sons. Funeral services were held at St. Michael's Church, and largely attended.
