Bio: Mary and Prentice married 9 Dec 1955.Mary May Payton daughter of Alvy and Martha Roe Schell was born January 11,1905 in Washington Center, MO and departed this life May 29, 1986 at the Liberty Hospital. May grew up in Washington center neighborhood and was baptized at the Wesley Chapel Church during that time. She was a member of the Eagleville Christian Church, The American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 56, Eagleville, and the RSVP of Bethany at the time of her death. She was married to Virgil Lippincott on April 9, 1923 where they ran the central office in Eagleville for a number of years. To this union three children were born. Paul Wayne, Elizabeth Ann, and Nancy Carolyn. After the death of her mate in 1952 she married Prentice Payton and he died in 1973. May lived most of her life in Eagleville. May was always busy knitting, tatting, crocheting and doing for others. Her afghans, pillow cases, house slippers, crocheted Easter bunnies, shamrocks, and chocolate chip cookies were seen in the homes of relatives and friends. Her special interest in the last few years had been visiting Lamoni Manor helping with chores for others and keeping their morale up. She continued to do this at Crestview Nursing home where she was a resident at the time of her death. Her love of flowers and gardening were shared with friends and neighbors along with her concern for everyone else. May was a special mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She leaves to morn; a son , Paul Wayne and wife Judy, Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Elizabeth Nible and husband Floyd, Bethany, and Nancy Davis and husband Jim, Blythdale, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three step daughters, Dorothy Payton, Gene Purdue, Runnells, Iowa, Marilyn Law, Remsen, Iowa, four step sons Don Payton, Ruskin, Florda, Nile and Prentice Payton, both of Des Moines Iowa, and Charles Payton, Sioux Falls S.D. step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren; two sisters, Ocle Hartschen, Bethany and Ruth Nagel, Kansas City; a brother Ben Schell, Bethany and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother,and grandson.
