My name is Donald Wachtel and I have recently discovered the father of my
grandfather,George Frederick (not A.) Wachtel born 26 Feb 1877,died 28
August 1858,both at Louisville Kentucky USA. Person ID 1187163 Suedpfalz.
The father of George F. Wachtel was Adam Hoertz below. George's Wachtel
surname came from his mother, Josephine Wachtel.
George Wachtel's mother was Josephine Wachtel b. 1855 d. 1916, Louisville
Kentucky USA as in your records. Josephine was never married. She had 2
children, George and Adelaide Wachtel by Adam Hoertz, born June 1858, died
January 1906, Louisville Kentucky.
Adam Hoertz later married Elizabeth Belzer b.1861 and they had no
children. Adam Hoertz refused to pay support to Josephine Wachtel for
George and Adelaide Wachtel in spite of court judgements.
