Bio: Harold T. Jackson age 92, of Canton, Ohio, died Monday evening in the Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Harold was born on November 30, 1913 in Woodsfield, Ohio to Charlie Jackson and Ethel Winger Jackson. He grew up on the family farm in Woodsfield and then proudly went and served his country during World War II, with the U.S. Army and was awarded three service medals. Harold spent 43 years with Nationwide Insurance, where he founded and constructed the Canton Nationwide operation that is still in operation today on Market Ave. N.W. At Nationwide, he rose to the position of Vice President in charge of the Northern Ohio Regional operations until retiring December 1, 1978. He was a member and had served on various committees at the Canton Chamber of Commerce, was a former member of the Canton Club and over the years had served on numerous civic organizations. He was a leading member of the Canton First Church of the Nazarene serving as a long time Sunday School Superintendent and a member of the Church Board. Harold was a long time member and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of Malone College. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Helen Jackson of the home. His son and daughter-in-law, David and Dr. Lauren H. Jackson of North Canton. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the REED FUNERAL HOME NORTH CANTON CHAPEL, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW., North Canton with Rev. Mike Dennis and Rev. John Stallings officiating. Burial will be in the Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery.
