He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Navaugh Council. Surviving are his wife, Kaihryn L. Kane; six sons, James F. Kane and George A Kane, twth Pompton Plains, Michael J. Kane, West Mil-ford, Richard A. Kane, Wall Township, Kevin M. Kane, Bel Air, Md., and Gersnl R. Kane, Lincoln Park; one daughter, Margaret E.
