Obituary for Allan R. Bintz
Allan R. Bintz, 85 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, with Rev. Randy Wesland officiating. Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Allan (Al) Robert Bintz was born on June 24, 1932 in Anoka, MN, to the late Harry and Tillie (Christianson) Bintz. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1950 and then began training in law enforcement. Al became a patrol officer with the Anoka Police Department and also worked with patrol dogs. He left the police department in 1975 after twenty years but still retained his love of the German shepherds he had worked with. Al kept his own dogs as constant companions, especially his favorite, ?Charlie? who stayed by his side. He also worked as a driver for a courier service in Minneapolis until retiring in 1989. Al was united with Louise Williams on November 1, 1952 at the Anoka City Hall. After Louise passed away, as did his good friend, George Bonner, Al was united in marriage to Christy Bonner on April 14, 2009 at the Chapel of the Bells in Lake Tahoe, CA. Together they made their home in Little Falls. Al was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his time at his cabin on Woman Lake, MN. He also enjoyed hunting, and being out and about with his dog ?Charlie, ? as well as a good game of cards. Al always had a new car every year and also maintained a pilots license. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and a Moose Lodge in Yuba City, CA when he lived there.
Al is survived by his wife, Christy; stepdaughters, Michele (Brad Valois) Waldrop of Morro Bay, CA and Tamara (Roland) Yates of New Braunfels, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Louise Bintz; brothers, Merle Bentz and Donald Bintz; and sister, Frances Bowman.
