He was born May 7, 1945 in Cooksville, IL, the son of Mervin and the late Lenora (nee Dippel) Wissmiller.He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150. He was a graduate of Newark High School Class of 1963.He is survived by two sons, Timothy (Jean) Wissmiller of Seneca, IL, Kevin (Frances) Wissmiller of Perryville, MO; eight grandchildren, Robert (Julia) Dodson, Kelly (Ira) Potter, Benjamin Dodson, Jacob (Melinda) Dodson, Haley Hester, Shane, Isabel and EmmaLyn Wissmiller; four great grandchildren, Christian and Benjamin Andrew Dodson, Caitylin and Megan Potter; three sisters, Patricia (John) Hambly of Yorkville, IL, Alice (John) Hemphill of Dubuque, IA, Jean (Craig) Stables of Hokah, MN; four brothers, Paul (Linda) Wissmiller of Yorkville, IL, Bruce Wissmiller of Singapore, Andrew (Deb) Wissmiller of San Francisco, CA, Anthony (Sue) Wissmiller of Morris, IL; several nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Myrna Hauge. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Wissmiller and sister, Kay Elizabeth Sleezer.Visitation will take place on Monday, February 5, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the MCKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD & CREMATION SERVICES at 210 S. Madison St. in Oswego, IL. A private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Patrick Demerath officiating.
