Robert was born January 18, 1950 in Morristown, TN, to Emory and Imogene Wilder Horner. He married Diane E. Kennedy November 12, 1983 in Armington. She survives. Also surviving are five sons, Chance (Stephanie) Horner of Bloomington, Cole (Jenny) Horner of Bloomington, Clint Horner of Bloomington, Charlie Horner of Armington, Cooper Horner of Bloomington, two sisters, Kathy (David) Long of Bloomington, Carrie (Roger) Schropfer of Lincoln, NE, five brothers, Lyle (Donna) Horner of Minier, Kyle (Patti) Horner of Peoria, Albert (Janice) Horner of Bloomington, Bill (Pam) Horner of Minier, Jack (Joni) Horner of Morton. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Brian. Robert had worked for Lehn & Fink in Lincoln for 25 years. He later worked for Olympia School Dist. as an maintince engineer. Robert was an OPBA umpire over 25 years. He was a life long Cub fan and an avid fisherman. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church in Minier. The Rev. John Horner will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday, June 28 at the Baptist church. Haensel Funeral Home in Minier is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be at Oak View Cemetery in Armington.
